    Summary

Located north of the Ogden River, the design team found inspiration for this building from the natural environment of its surrounding area.

Designed to infuse the human experience with a connection to nature, the design creates a sense of movement with the building by undulating the building forms to mimic the natural movement of the river.  Transparency is created in the design with perforated metal panels.  These panels mimic the tree canopies lining the river and allow natural light to penetrate the larger interior lobby.  A band of wood grain tile encircles the building imitating the exposed tree trunks lining the river. Formed by the erosion of the moving water, patterns were created in the rocky banks.  This pattern forms the model for the exterior base of the building.

Emphasizing the symbiotic relationship of nature, the interior space has a distinct flow and openness responding to the goals of member movement through the space and creating a safe, secure environment.
