Summary
With the increase in passenger traffic using the Ogden Regional Airport, Ogden City needed to expand the Hinckley Terminal to continue to serve its growing community. The new two-story terminal’s open plan contributes to clear paths of travel, intuitive wayfinding and free-flow circulation expressing the region’s adventurous spirit while helping travelers navigate through the airport.
The elegant form of this Regional Airport Expansion evokes the joy of flight and history of Ogden City. Built to relieve passenger congestion, the terminal expansion includes expanded passenger services, renovated airline ticketing and rental car areas, baggage handling system and TSA screening area.
The use of local, sustainable materials inside and out creates a timeless, contemporary building. Sustainable design strategies minimize the airport’s environmental footprint through high-performance glazing, daylighting, and energy-efficient mechanical and lighting systems.
