    Summary

As part of cosmetology’s rapid growth at OWTC, the College engaged SAA to design an adaptive re-use learning space in the old campus pre-school building that would bring theory and practice together in new ways by juxtaposing classrooms and lab areas to spur new types of interaction and dialogue among students and faculty.

The design focuses on spaces to develop a student’s transition into barbering, cosmetology, and manicurist. Spaces included classrooms for learning the history of cosmetology, men's and women's haircutting procedures, razor techniques, clipper cutting techniques, texturizing techniques, straight razor shaving, facial hair designs and nail services such as manicure and pedicures.
