    Summary

Sanders Associates Architects was the Architect-of-Record for the $22.4 million Egyptian Center, which included the restoration of the historic Peery's Egyptian Theater and the construction of the David Eccles Conference Center.

The Egyptian Theater, constructed in 1924 of reinforced concrete as a 900-seat movie palace, is one of the only two atmospheric theaters in the Egyptian-revival style west of the Mississippi.  Since opening in January 1997, the theater regularly hosts performances of Ballet West, the Utah Symphony, the Utah Symphony Chamber Orchestra, and the annual appearance of the Sundance Film Festival.
